But before we dive deeper into my experiences, let me share an intriguing AI project that left an indelible mark on me, offering a glimpse into the incredible possibilities with AI—the “Nothing, Forever” endless streaming Seinfeld show. This AI was trained on all the episodes of Seinfeld and created an unending stream of hilariously absurd episodes. Imagine similar possibilities for beloved shows like Friends or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, “Nothing, Forever” was canceled due to the AI sometimes generating content considered offensive, but it’s a testament to how AI can be used to create new content from existing works, much like the infamous “Seinfeld vision” from 30 Rock.
The Creative Process: From Prompt to Art
Every artistic venture carries its own narrative. Picture this: a quiet room, the soft hum of the computer, and the glow of the screen casting a gentle ambiance. It’s in this tranquil setting that creativity takes flight.
With AI art, sometimes, it starts with a simple prompt—a mere whisper of an idea that ignites the creative spark. Other times, I plunge headfirst into the digital realm, sculpting and refining the output with precision, using photo editing tools like GIMP to craft the masterpiece. AI Nihonga: A Fusion of Tradition and Technology
One of my most cherished AI art projects involves the harmonious fusion of AI technology with the traditional Japanese art form—AI Nihonga. MidJourney, a versatile AI application, has been my trusted companion on this artistic odyssey. With its uncanny ability to conjure surreal landscapes and dreamlike scenarios, it invites me to explore uncharted realms of creativity. From whimsical landscapes to otherworldly vistas, MidJourney allows me to traverse the boundaries of the imaginable. At the time of this writing, Midjourney does have a price to use its service, but so far, I’m on the cheapest tier and I’m very impressed!
AI Art in Action: PicsArt and DALL·E
In my creative toolkit, I also wield PicsArt and DALL·E, each with its unique prowess. PicsArt, a mobile app, serves as my AI image notepad, where a quick prompt can result in unexpected visual delights. I use this on the go to bring simple ideas to life that I may choose to refine later. DALL·E, on the other hand, has an API that I’ve harnessed for various technical projects, extracting and curating images to complement my creative endeavors. Leveraging the power of AWS, ChatGPT, and DALL-E, you can create really cool apps that automatically generate content for you on a schedule!

Amidst this exhilarating journey, I remain conscious of the ethical implications surrounding AI art. In a society that grapples with questions of privacy and consent, I don’t advocate for imposing stringent rules on creativity. However, education plays a crucial role in helping individuals understand the potential risks and harms that can arise when technology is misused. For example, the casual sharing of children’s images on social media can inadvertently expose them to privacy breaches and misuse. As a society, we must strike a balance between creative freedom and responsible use of technology.
